Foundations New Structure

The LCCF has undergone a re-structure during the summer. Chairman Trevor Barton has appointed Stuart Littler as the  new manager of the LCCF and he will now take over the day to day running of the Foundation. The LCCF has also taken on Stuart Donlan as the new Apprentice Line Manager. He will help over see the 12 apprentices currently working for the Foundation and be working within the schools in the borough delivering the Tag Rugby programme.

Trevor had this to say about the foundation and its progress over the first 18months ” The first eighteen months of the Foundation have been very challenging but rewarding nonetheless. We work with ProcoNW and have developed a Sports apprenticeship that is very special and equips our learners with many skills and experiences. Our reach to schools and community clubs is growing and we are beginning to see some of our people progressing to further education or employment. To have won the Championship Foundation of the Year award recently was gratifying but the real prize is to turn out confident young people who progress into meaningful employment.”

On the re-structure Trevor commented ” Stuart Littler has successfully taken on the role as Manager and has made our offer and outcomes even more professional. Stuart Donlan is looking after the apprentices and collectively we are running more competitions for schools as well as running Tag and Touch Rugby.”

Trevor went on to say ” We are grateful for the interest shown in us by our Board and standby to help the Club with its aspirations to produce a 1st Class professional performance pathway which our educational pathway will complement.

Overall our reputation is growing but it is hard won and we have to constantly strive to deliver a first class product in as cost effective way as we can. Fortunately, our values are shared by colleagues at Wigan and Leigh College, Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust and Leigh Sports Village.

Thank you to all the people including our sponsors who have supported us during the last year and we hope we can rely on your support in 2015.”
